Beaten favourite when heavily backed last time and particularly interesting that he's sent here for this race. Doesn't look obviously well-handicapped but trainer seems unlikely to send a Flat runner to the UK for the fun of it and the booking of this jockey suggests connections mean business.
Won a claimer last time but needs to step up on that effort to get involved in what looks like a hot contest. Claims if back to his very best but seems doubtful at his age.
Boasts a 50% strike-rate on the AW (7-14) with five further placed efforts and he beat Calling Out, who reopposes here, easily enough last time. Thoroughly straight-forward sort and every chance he will be hard to beat again from an ideal draw.
Cost connections 85,000 gns and made a respectable start to life under this trainer last time when returning from a break. Better expected here but has quite a task on at the weights.
Good effort last time out at Newcastle and coped best with the strong pace set but this looks deeper and there's a feeling Newcastle's stiff finish suited him particularly well last time. Wouldn't want to give the pace-setter too much rope.

Winning Story (6/4), Watersmeet (5/2), Calvinist (7/2), Pique Sous (9/2), Calling Out (6/1), Retrieve (16/1), Pearl Castle (50/1)
It's hard to oppose WATERSMEET who barely ever runs a bad race and has a fine 50% record on the AW including two wins from three starts here. Winning Story can give him most to think about but may need things to fall right for him while Calling Out should improve for the step up in trip provided he settles better. Any market support for Pique Sous should be respected.
