Horse silk

£25,000 Ascot July 2016 purchase. Improved effort on first start over hurdles when third at Doncaster last month. A similar run here would put him very much in the reckoning. Yard took this in 2014.

Horse silk

Has scope to improve on what he has shown so far but hard to recommend on what we have seen so far. Yard 0-33 here in the past five seasons have been struggling for winners recently

66/1
Has been disappointing thus far and a tongue tie is now fitted having soon lost touch last time.
4
Horse silk
11/2
Looks the yard's second string. Entitled to improve for his debut and there are winners in the family but may be one for the future.
5
Horse silk
7/2
Picked up his first career win when scoring on the AW last time. Fair third on hurdling debut but he needs to prove he's as effective on softer ground.
6
Horse silk
25/1
Modest performer on the flat who was tailed off on hurdling debut. Yard seeking first winer since July.
Sent off at 100/1 and tailed off on hurdling debut. Best effort on the Flat came around here but still hard to see her landing this.
8
Horse silk
66/1
Bred to be better than we have seen thus far. Dam was a winning staying chaser so she may come into her own over further. Drops in trip today having lost touch when the pace has picked up on her last two starts.

Forecasts

Chti Balko (30/100), Life Knowledge (7/2), Hit And Run (11/2), Classical Sound (11/1), Port Lairge (25/1), Derrydoon (66/1), Ruby Vodka (66/1), Come On Lulu (100/1)

Verdict

CHTI BALKO does not have to improve too much on his Doncaster hurdling debut to land this. Representing a yard who have a good strike rate here he has an ideal opportunity to open his account with softer ground likely to suit judged by his pedigree. Life Knowledge looks the clear best of the rest. He comes into this having won on the AW last time but his ability to handle ground this soft has to be taken on trust. Classical Sound may prove to be best of the rest. 1. Chti Balko 2. Life Knowledge 3. Classical Sound
