Well held in two bumpers (both at Ayr) on soft/heavy ground either side of Christmas. Finished equally well-beaten on his hurdles debut at Carlisle recently when his jumping also lacked any fluency and failed to trouble the leaders.
Won a slowly-run bumper on his second start at Hexham in early 2016. Hurdles starts have been less inspiring though and has, so far, failed to take to obstacles with his jumping leaving a lot to be desired. Finished well beaten on all four hurdles starts.
Finally got off the mark at the fifth attempt in point-to-points in December 2015. Form so far over hurdles has been relatively modest with a fourth at Newcastle last time out being the better of his two efforts so far.
Pulled-up on his sole point-to-point run but bumper and hurdles form has been much better. Placed in two bumpers (both at Ayr), he stepped up on that form with a solid second on his hurdles debut behind an odds-on favourite and is entitled to progress on that effort.
Form in bumpers has been modest although there was promise in his last effort in that sphere. Switched to hurdles for his last two starts and showed up well last time out with a last flight mistake probably costing him the race; looks capable of winning in this company.
Started favourite for a bumper here in November but finished well beaten when never really involved. Makes her hurdles debut now after a break.
The most experienced in this field and has won a bumper. Yet to score in 13 attempts over hurdles and not really living up to her early promise. Ran a sound race on her penultimate start at Musselburgh but disappointed in handicap company last time out.

This isn’t a particularly strong start to the card with Well Joey and TRONGATE looking as though they are the duo with most improvement in them. The latter just shades the verdict with his yard in good form and a solid hurdling debut behind him. Verona Opera has had so many chances now over hurdles that she is hard to support with any confidence; although none of the other four make that much appeal in a weak opener.
