Runner up on his second start in a four-year-old Irish Point-to-Point at Ballingarry in June 2016, moving onto this trainer thereafter. Ran out a ready victor when making a winning bumper and stable debut at Warwick last month (2m soft) and probably the one to beat on that showing despite the penalty.
Cost €220,000 as a yearling, and sold unraced for £12,000 in November 2014. Never much better than midfield throughout on his debut at Wetherby earlier this month, when a well held sixth of 11 to Mon Palois.
Inexpensive purchase as a three-year-old, and a half-brother to 3m2f hunter chase winner Digg Whitaker. Exceeded market expectations on bumper debut at Ayr last month (2m heavy), finishing 3L second to Sam's Adventure. Will hopefully settle better with that experience under his belt and likely to encounter similar deep conditions today.
Cost £50,000 at Aintree in April 2016 after winning on his Point-to-Point debut at Kirkistown (beating the talented Jerrysback) in March 2016. Disappointing that he could only finish fifth of 11 (Ghafaan sixth) when 9/4fav for his bumper debut at Wetherby earlier this month, but well worth another chance on the strength of his form in Ireland.
Unraced first foal by Misu Bond out of a Primo Valentino mare (Davana), who is likely to find these conditions very tough on her debut with that pedigree.
Forecasts
Carlos Du Fruitier (4/5), McGowan's Pass (9/4), Oscar Mor (4/1), Ghafaan (25/1), Starfall (66/1)
Carlos Du Fruitier is the clear form pick on what we've seen so far in bumpers, but has a penalty to shoulder for his winning stable debut at Warwick, whilst McGowan's Pass has plenty going for him on ground that he's already encountered this year at Ayr. However, it's probably worth forgiving OSCAR MOR for a below par bumper debut at Wetherby on the strength of his strong point-to-point form at Kirkistown (beat Jerrysback), and he's taken to bounce back on deep ground at a galloping track which should suit.
1. Oscar Mor
2. Carlos Du Fruitier
3. Mcgowan's Pass
