Has gradually stepped up in trip in each of his three starts in novice company, winning for the second time a fortnight ago at Bangor (2m7f soft). These conditions will hold no fears for this ex Irish point-to-point racer, with his only rules defeat coming at the hands of subsequent Grade 2 scorer The Worlds End.

Like Testify, likes to race prominently, and made all to score by 4L for this rider on his second racecourse appearance in a Chepstow maiden hurdle (3m) last month. Whilst on official ratings, he has plenty to find with the likely favourite, he is clearly improving and should handle these conditions.

Much like his more illustrious stablemate Seeyouatmidnight (Hexham), he ran out a shock 66/1 winner of a novices hurdle. Whilst his Kelso success was very much unexpected on his hurdles debut, there appeared to be no fluke about it with previous winners placed. Wasn't fluent when stepped upto 3m last time at Musselburgh, and this looks a similarly competitive race despite the small field, so likely to have to play a supporting role.

Four time winning chaser. Revels in heavy ground and has won at this course, but the best of his form is over trips up to 2m4f. Hasn't raced over hurdles since March 2014 (for previous trainer Ferdy Murphy), but boasts placed form over these obstacles in France as a three-year-old in 2011, so interesting to see him switched back in his later years.

Forecasts

Imperial Bay (15/8), Testify (2/1), Seemorelights (3/1), De Vous A Moi (5/1)

Verdict

Back over the hurdles, and for the first time for this trainer, De Vous A Moi is obviously of some interest given his rapid improvement over fences, and his higher chasing mark. Whilst he revels in deep ground, this trip is unchartered territory stamina wise, and although he probably should stay, preference is for the progressive TESTIFY who seeks to make it a third success of hurdles dropped marginally in trip after winning at Bangor earlier this month. 1. Testify 2. De Vous A Moi 3. Imperial Bay
