Top performer this season both in novice events and handicaps. Has the tendency to put in the occasional disappointing run, but will not need to show too much to win comfortably here.
Well beaten favourite last time out having won a similar event at Doncaster the time before. That form can be questioned, and he's entitled to find himself outclassed here.
Looked to be struggling when unseating at Exeter last time, having narrowly won a relatively minor event at Hereford the time before. Was pulled up on his only start in this grade and something more will be needed today. Cheek pieces on.
This looks weak for a Grade 2, and shouldn't take much winning if FRODON is in the same form that saw him win a competitive Grade 3 handicap at Cheltenham in November. His disappointing run in the Kauto Star is perhaps the only worry, but that race was much more competitive than this, and this trip would seem to be his optimum. Charmix looked beaten when unseating last time but is probably still the main opposition, ahead of Gold Present, who didn't run nearly as well as expected at Kempton last time.
