Delivered on previous promise shown to score maiden hurdle success over 2m6f at Punchestown on Wednesday, drops in trip and holds good claims in first handicap start despite quick turnaround.
Just the one win from 13 attempts over timber, coming off 10lb lower mark at Gowran Park in November 2015. Latest third at Ffos Las in December over this trip merits plenty respect.
Bumper and point-to-point winner got off the mark first time in Roscommon maiden hurdle over two-miles in October. Not as good upped to this trip later the same month at Wexford and will need improvement for this test.
Left previous hurdles form behind to score over two-miles in Down Royal maiden hurdle late last month. Claims if building on that now switched to handicaps.
Tame effort latest at Down Royal off 2lb higher mark at similar trip. Yet to make the frame in six starts over timber.
One win from 16 over hurdles and one from 34 overall, beaten a long way in two-mile chase at Down Royal last month and pulled up previous hurdles start.
Mark continues to slide, needs to get back on song but could play a part on return to longer trip though recent efforts not especially pleasing.
Ridden more patiently at Gowran Park earlier this month, but still not able to take a hand in the finish. Does boast some fair efforts in maidens however, could do much better now taking chance in handicap.
Pulled up sole previous try over flights last January, third in Down Royal bumper in August and won point-to-point in October since switching to this trainer. One to watch out for in the market.
Navan win last month over this trip was a bit of a shock, since struggled at Down Royal off revised mark but not entirely ruled out of calculations.
There have been some minor signs of ability in her form but last week's Gowran Park effort was essentially another step in the wrong direction and leaves her best watched for now.
Forecasts
The Green Lady (9/4), Peace N' Milan (7/1), Swift (7/1), Court Challenge (8/1), Pixie Lane (8/1), Golden Flowerpower (8/1), Hide The Biscuit (12/1), Indy Island (12/1), Pahaska (14/1), Bracklin Princess (14/1), Cinder Rua (33/1)
This looks wide open but if last month's Down Royal effort was a sign of a corner having been turned then INDY ISLAND should have a decent chance of making a winning handicap bow. That was a much-improved effort and she should handle the step up in trip without too many problems. The Green Lady also confirmed the promise of her earlier efforts when scoring a maiden success over a longer trip at Punchestown recently and should be able to build on it. Court Challenge hasn't exactly been consistent but her run at Ffos Las in December makes plenty appeal for her hopes coming here. Handicap debutant Pahaska is worth a look in the betting while Hide The Biscuit could also do better on first start over flights for this trainer having scored in a point-to-point when last spotted.
1. Indy Island
2. The Green Lady
3. Court Challenge
