Consistent sort who's won twice and placed twice from his last four outings. Won over a furlong less than today's trip in a large field at Navan last time out. He races off a 15lb higher mark here and trainer and jockey have a 16% strike rate (7/44) when teaming up.
Winner of his penultimate outing over 2m7f at Haydock in December and beaten 6L over the same C&D off his revised mark last month. Racing off a 9lb higher mark than for his most recent hurdles success but did win a chase off higher in January 2015 and should go well again here.
Well beaten at a big price in a Grade 1 event at Ascot in December and beaten over 2m5f in a listed mares event at Warwick subsequently. Only handicap outing so far resulted in a heavy defeat off an 8lb lower mark and interesting to see how she fares here.
Well beaten over fences of late including at Carlisle earlier this month. Have to go back over two years for his latest success and he remains on a mark 3lb higher than on that occasion on his return to hurdling here.
Winner of his two previous starts in handicaps prior to finishing runner-up over 3m at Musselburgh in a novice event three weeks ago. Had this jockey up when an easy winner of his penultimate outing at Fakenham but more to do here off a 19lb higher mark.
Won four on the bounce in 2015/16 but well beaten over fences earlier this season and switch to hurdles hasn't appeared to bring about a revival in form the last twice. Likely best watched despite slipping handicap mark.
Winner at Ffos Las earlier this season and runner-up in a Grade 2 subsequently. Disappointingly beaten when odds-on favourite at Hereford last time out and upped in trip for his handicap debut here.
Highly tried in a Grade 2 contest at Haydock last weekend and pulled up here over C&D the time before that. Winner of a listed handicap earlier this season but recent outings suggest he'll struggle here off a 6lb higher mark than for that success.
Finished runner-up with the pair clear in a Doncaster handicap hurdle last time out and occupied the same position at Ascot on his previous outing. Races off a 6lb higher mark here but the likely softer ground will suit and he should go well again.
Expensive purchase after winning his point-to-point in March 2015 and a winner on soft ground at Fontwell in April 2016. Disappointed twice since in handicaps including on his handicap debut at Newbury last time out and likely best watched at present.
Failed to complete in four of his last five outings including when pulled up at Hereford earlier this month. Now rated 1lb lower than for a novice handicap chase success here 13 months ago but needs to bounce return to form to figure here.
Winner of a Bangor novice chase in September but well beaten over hurdles on his last three starts including when third at Newbury a fortnight ago. Back down to his last winning mark however and should handle the forecast conditions here.
Making his first hurdles start since April 2014 when finishing 10L fourth at Sandown earlier this month. Races off a mark 3lb lower than for his most recent handicap success over fences but more likely needed in this.
Forecasts
Gayebury (4/1), Abbreviate (5/1), Jury Duty (11/2), Red Hanrahan (8/1), Ballyculla (17/2), Soupy Soups (10/1), Splash of Ginge (12/1), Racing Pulse (14/1), Surtee Du Berlais (20/1), Rolling Maul (20/1), Anteros (20/1), Join The Clan (20/1), Solstice Star (33/1)
GAYEBURY can register his first success in handicap company at the opening attempt here. The seven-year-old has finished runner-up the last twice but has looked as if this extra distance would suit and he can get the better of the Irish raider Jury Duty who's been running in similarly competitive events recently and has a good young jockey in the saddle here. Both Abbreviate and Soupy Soups have been running well recently but it's the former who gets the nod for third having finished in a close second at Doncaster earlier this month.
1. Gayebury
2. Jury Duty
3. Abbreviate
