Winning hurdler when with Nicky Henderson and won off higher marks than he runs off today. Runs his first race over the smaller obstacles for his current yard today but hasn't really sparked of late over fences and looked none too keen last time out at Sedgefield.

Comes back to hurdles after an abortive and disappointing chasing debut at Market Rasen (fell 6th). Had previously shown some good form when winning a Uttoxeter handicap hurdle off a 7lb lower mark, under a typically aggressive ride from today's pilot. Similar tactics may well be applied in this contest on a track that suit front runners.

Sprang to life over hurdles with a surprise win at Wetherby in December when he looked to benefit from the increased trip and more patient tactics. Followed up that win under a penalty at Ayr in a win gained with even greater authority showing a good turn of foot to boot and he could do better still even off an increased mark.

Has been in good form over the past year or so with three wins the last coming at Catterick in November off a 4lb lower mark when racing prominently and jumping well. Slightly below that form in two subsequent runs and a trip similar to this one looked a little on the short side last time out; probably needs more use made of him.

Took advantage of a steadily falling mark when scoring in a handicap for the first time at Leicester on his penultimate start with the yard also being in better form at the time. Struggled back off a higher mark in his subsequent start at Doncaster although he did get knocked around in a big field but the trip might prove a problem (all his best form is over 2m).

Forecasts

Little Bruce (6/4), Thyne For Gold (10/3), Political Quiz (4/1), Minella Fiveo (4/1), Lyvius (20/1)

Verdict

The improving LITTLE BRUCE looks to have been presented with a good opportunity to complete the hat-trick over a trip that looks to suit him. Minella Fiveo and Thyne For Gold present the main threats with the former likely to get an attacking ride which can be very effective around this track. Thyne For Gold needs to improve on his last two starts but with his yard going well he should not be totally written off. 1. Little Bruce 2. Minella Fiveo 3. Thyne For Gold
