Surprise winner of a four runner novice event in March 2016 but has enjoyed no success in six starts since. Finished third of four at Doncaster over 2m3.5f last month and likely to appreciate this drop back in trip.
Stepped up in trip and class when tackling a handicap hurdle over an extended three miles at Kempton last time out. Had shown promise on handicap debut when third of four at Southwell and likely to run well here.
Shaped with promise when finishing in the frame in her two most recent efforts over hurdles. Form of her most recent outing when third at Fontwell is working out well with the runner-up winning since and the fourth running well in a listed event last weekend. Looks to be on a fair mark for a yard who's horses are running well at present.
Winner off a 3lb lower mark at Exeter last month on her handicap debut. Showed promise in maiden and novice company in her first two efforts over hurdles and another with a chance off her revised mark with the stable jockey taking the ride.
Placed off an 8lb higher mark at Carlisle in March 2016. Disappointed subsequently and again underperformed at Ffos Las on her seasonal debut. Likely to prefer better ground than is forecast here.
Forecasts
Lady Markby (2/1), Martha Mccandles (3/1), One Big Love (10/3), Mo Chailin (7/2), Appletree Lane (12/1)
LADY MARKBY can make a winning handicap debut in this event restricted to mares. The selection finished third at Fontwell on her most recent outing and represents a yard going well at present with just one unplaced runner from their last six participants. Martha McCandles ran well in winning over hurdles at Exeter last time out having disappointed the time before but the forecast going should suit her here while One Big Love can put a poor run at Kempton in December behind her by running well here also.
1. Lady Markby
2. Martha Mccandles
