Outjumped his rivals to score impressively last time. Due to race off a 7lb higher mark in future handicaps so looks the obvious choice with his yard in such good form. Only concern would be drying ground.
Twice a C&D winner with today's rider on board including this race 12 months ago off a 6lb lower mark. Will strip fitter for a spin over hurdles last month and entitled to respect.
Impressive winner of a weak race at Newbury on his first run for new yard. Sweated up and raced too freely before coming to grief last time. Has claims if settling better here and if these stiff fences don't catch him out.
Winner at Aintree in November and not disgraced in three runs since. Back down to a more workable mark now so one for the shortlist.
Winner at Newbury on New Year's Eve despite making mistakes. The form has holes in it with both the second and third well beaten on their latest starts. Got no further than the third last time and his jumping will be tested over these tricky fences.
Completed a hat-trick before finding the useful Grey Gold too good for him last time. Has a further 2lb rise to overcome but in his current mood he will still be tough to beat.
Handicapper has had his say following two victories last season. Tailed off on his reappearance and best watched today.
Off the mark over fences in impressive style last time having failed to complete on his previous two starts. Forcing tactics over this trip obviously suit and there could be more to come now that connections have found the key to him.
A plunging handicap mark sees him receiving plenty of weight all round and he has a good 10lb claimer on board too. Recent form offers little encouragement, though. Cheekpieces are back on and worth a check in the betting market.
Forecasts
Pougne Bobbi (11/10), Cepage (5/1), Speredek (7/1), Dream Bolt (8/1), Icing On The Cake (10/1), Raven's Tower (16/1), Fairy Rath (20/1), Mr Muddle (25/1), Exmoor Mist (25/1)
POUGNE BOBBI is impossible to oppose following his impressive success at Ludlow. He is due to race off a higher mark in the future and he needs to take this before taking on sterner opposition. Dream Bolt is in the form of his life and this willing horse has the ideal partner with Sean Bowen on board. Fairy Rath always runs well around here and in particular for Tom Cannon. It is asking a lot for him to follow up last year's success on these terms but he will give his usual good account.
1. Pougne Bobbi
2. Dream Bolt
3. Fairy Rath
