A couple of quiet runs from this 400,000 gns yearling purchase, who showed much more prominently when stepped up in trip at Lingfield (1m2f) last time. Looks to have been reasonably treated on that evidence and with the potential for more to come now handicapping, she is short-list material.

Cost 40,000 gns last year and shaped well enough on her turf debut at Leicester (7f) in October. Not disgraced in two defeats since and now steps into this sphere from a fair looking mark. Sports a first-time hood and jockey's claim also a potential help, could go well.

Son of Frankel who has yet to trouble the judge in three attempts. Unlikely that his breeders had this event in mind at the time, but showed a bit more in his most recent maiden run and if any of that ability is within his genes then he should go well in handicaps for a yard in cracking form.

5lb higher than when landing a Southwell handicap in December and a beaten favourite from this mark last time. First run on this surface, so has to prove she handles it. Should again go well though looks vulnerable for win purposes.

Yet to make the frame in four maidens and switches to handicapping like a number of others here. Certainly appears to have a workable mark for a top trainer and the step up in trip could be a positive. Market check advised.

Had plenty of chances already, being placed five times from nine starts and the most experienced of the field. Handles this surface, though takes a marked step up in trip and pedigree suggests that his stamina will be stretched beyond recall here.

Been tried at this trip in one of her three starts and did reasonably well, though her best effort was probably last time over a mile at Kempton. Not badly treated at all given that she is slowly going the right way and could go well back over 1m2f if handling this particular surface.

Well beaten on all three maiden runs and begins handicapping from a lowly mark. As ever with this stable, a market check is advised, though on the face of it he faces a tough task.

Forecasts

Haraka (9/4), Mikey Ready (7/2), My Rosie (4/1), Things Happen (6/1), Shee's Lucky (8/1), Scarlet Thrush (11/1), Mayflair (16/1), Knightsbridge Liam (33/1)

Verdict

A few imponderables here with regard to the handicapper's assessment of the abilities of a few of them and despite top weight in a handicap first time MY ROSIE is suggested. Scarlet Thrush could show improved form over this trip, while Shee's Lucky and Haraka are others who could go well. 1. My Rosie 2. Scarlet Thrush 3. Haraka
