Makes debut on Flat here after running fifth in a bumper at Uttoxeter in December. Best watched on a surface that the sire has an uninspiring record on.
Still a maiden after eight attempts but does have some fair efforts to his name including at this track. Ran well in a handicap last time out over a mile here, although probably did too much too soon over a trip that stretches him and this drop in trip looks ideal.
Took a step backward from his two turf seconds at Bath and Chester in the summer when fourth of five at Wolverhampton recently. That was his AW debut and he has to adapt to a new surface again here off the back of a moderate run.
Showed improvement from his debut run at Windsor when taking the runner-up spot (after an enquiry) at Lingfield. Looks one who can progress but the sire has a poor record with his progeny on this surface.
Made favourite for his recent debut at Wolverhampton and showed up well against some more experienced types who filled the first two places. Should have learnt a bit from that run (needs to settle better) and comes here with a leading chance.
Well held on both his starts so far both over further than this at Wolverhampton. Drops in trip here to 7f for the first time but will have to handle this surface and looks more one for low-grade handicaps.
Shown very modest form so far in two starts at Wolverhampton with the better effort coming on his debut. Would need to show plenty of improvement to take a hand.
Just the one run so far for this Equiano gelding at Wolverhampton over 7f which resulted in a fair fourth after making late headway. Looks one for the longer term though given his initial run and pedigree.
Half-brother to 11 winners including some on dirt in North America plus his dam (Temporada) also won on the dirt. Cost $285,000 as a yearling and makes his debut here.
Still a maiden after 10 Flat starts and well beaten in a Southwell handicap last time out. Had also looked below par previously on fibresand and there are others with better claims in this company.
Forecasts
Kencumin (13/8), Elegantly Bound (3/1), He's A Lad (3/1), Trenchard (4/1), Havelock (12/1), Lady Volante (66/1), Striking For Gold (100/1), Major Tom (200/1), Newton Heath (200/1), Delphyne (200/1)
There probably isn’t much depth in this maiden and TRENCHARD whose pedigree screams dirt won’t need to be that smart to show up well here. Kencumin if he takes to this surface showed promise last time out (needs to settle better) but there must be a doubt about He’s A Lad acting on Fibresand given his pedigree. Elegantly Bound showed up well in a handicap last time out and could well put his experience on this surface to good use.
1. Trenchard
2. Kencumin
3. Elegantly Bound
