Irish raider who hacked up in Hereford maiden hurdle last month in heavy ground. The softer the better for him today and has a big chance, but does have to concede his winner's penalty.
Modest middle distance maiden Flat handicapper in Ireland. Joined current yard in December and has shown little in two starts in maiden hurdles. May do better once he goes handicapping.
More or less tailed off on both starts so far over hurdles and hasn't shown much to get excited about. Looks to face another stiff task this afternoon.
Won moderate 10f handicap at Bath last summer for previous yard. Respectable third on hurdling bow at Wetherby last month but appeared to find soft ground against him when disappointing at Warwick last time out. Today's forecast ground therefore is a concern.
Respresents powerful yard. Luckless debut when clipped heels and slipped up at Catterick on debut in November, then outclassed in hot race at Musselburgh last time. This is a drop in grade and he comes into the reckoning.
Dismal effort on hurdling bow at Fontwell in September but a little better at Exeter last time. Much more needed though to figure and may need further experience and lesser company to break his duck.
Maiden on Flat and over hurdles in Ireland. Thrown in at deep end for new connections in Grade 2 event at Cheltenham last time and unsurprisingly found that too hot to handle. This is a easier though and comes very much into the reckoning.
Placed three times on Flat at up to 10f for Paul Cole. First start over hurdles for new yard and should be fit enough after a spin on the Flat in December. Any market interest might be worth noting.
Fair Flat handicapper who won at both York and Chester last campaign. Favourite and fourth in listed event on hurdles bow and runner-up twice since, beaten just a neck latest in dceent Huntingdon event. Sure to be there or thereabouts once again.
Galileo colt related to useful Flat performers. Third behind useful pair at Punchestown on hurdles debut for previous connections. First start here for new trainer and of definite interest if reproducing his Irish form on British debut.
Moderate Flat handicapper who looks far from certain on pedigree to stay over hurdles. Shrewd yard among the winners of late but has tough task on debut over timber.
Hasn't looked any great shakes in her three starts to date although not disgraced here last time out. Handicapping likely to be her game and others preferred today.
Forecasts
Master Blueyes (2/5), Long Call (7/2), New Millennium (13/2), Lambeau Field (12/1), Bob's Boy (20/1), Pretty Reckless (25/1), Does It In Style (33/1), Hollywood Ken (100/1), Maroc (100/1), Black Buble (100/1), Banff (100/1), Strictly Art (100/1)
A trappy juvenile hurdle but the vote goes to Charlie Longsdon's LAMBEAU FIELD, faced with a very tough task in a Grade 2 last time out and expected to appreciate today's easier company. This is a competitive heat though and Irish challenger Long Call is respected after hacking up in the mud at Hereford last time, while ex-Irish New Millenium is an interesting recruit for the Hobbs team. Master Blueyes has already made a fair transition to hurdles from the Flat and could be a danger to all in what is a fair race of its type for the track.
1. Lambeau Field
2. Master Blueyes
3. Long Call
