Runner-up at Catterick over this trip when last seen marked an improvement on two previous efforts this season back in october. Has been upped 4lb by the handicapper for that run behind a previous and yards last winner came back in may.
Failed to complete on his last three outings, including in a hood at Wincanton last time out. Has been dropped 8lbs by the handicapper but remains off a mark 10lb higher than when winning over hurdles here in march 2015 and he looks a risky proposition at present.
Placed off 4lb lower mark at both Huntingdon and Wetherby last spring but disappointed off this mark when last seen out at Kempton in may. Yet to win in 9 rules and 3 point-to-point outings and probably best watched on return to action.
Three time winner over hurdles including here. Runner-up off this mark at Kelso in december having fallen on his previous outing. Form of his Kelso run doesn't look anything special but interesting to see how he performs on the likely softer ground (won on heavy in the past) here.
Remains a maiden after 12 rules outings, shaped as if in need of further in a novice hurdle over this trip and pulled up off 8lb higher mark on only handicap start over hurdles. Hood and tongue tie combination left off last time out return here.
Point-to-point winner who's finished outside the first three just once in six rules outings. Runner-up last time out with the third giving a boost to the form since while the form of his previous second has been boosted by the winner also. Should be hard to beat here.
Winner of a point-to-point in Ireland in October 2015 and placed twice over hurdles last spring. Disappointed on his seasonal debut when fourth at Musselburgh last time out but makes his chasing and handicap debut over the minimum distance here.

FREDDIES PORTRAIT can gain a first success under rules by taking this competitive novices handicap event. Hailing from a top yard the gelding ran well here on his penultimate outing and racing towards the head of affairs should also aid this point-to-point winner. Nine Altars can chase the selection home having run well when finishing second at Catterick a month ago while the unexposed Ryalex can round out the placings.
