Ex Irish (M. O'Callaghan) and made a reasonable debut (third) for this stable over 1m at Lingfield in early December, but has gradually regressed and finished last of 11 on her sole run over this trip on her penultimate start. Her mark has reduced a few more pounds to 56, but this probably isn't enough.
A nine time winner on turf but seemingly not as good on synthetics (one from 24). Well beaten on both previous starts over this C&D and only sixth of ten (latest) over 1m4f at Kempton to AW record breaking veteran Stand Guard.
A C&D winner from a 1lb lower mark in August 2016 who followed up over nine furlongs at Wolverhampton but has struggled in the main since. Although finishing third at Wolverhampton last month, this was followed up by a tame effort last time (over 1m at Newcastle), and steps back up in trip to 1m2f today.
€65,000 yearling who showed little in three maidens over 6-7 furlongs that were spread over ten months apart (October 2015 to July 2016). A similar story on handicap debut at Hamilton in August, but returns for AW debut off a break (same stable) up markedly in trip, but with stamina in his family tree. Stable going well.
C&D third to Thello in December is increasingly looking like the exception rather than the norm, and nowhere near so good in two subsequent starts (including over further) at this track. Mark has fallen to a career low of 48, befitting of a one time winner in 31 career starts (nine furlongs, Carlisle in August 2016).
This stables first ever runner here on Tapeta who was well backed off a break on his handicap debut at Chelmsford recently. Debatable what he actually achieved in finishing third to All Or Nothing (Class 7), and that race was over just 7f. Pedigree suggests he should stay, and mark of 45 is a basement rating if able to show any further improvement.
Has won twice on the AW at Wolverhampton (both over shorter trips than this 1m2f), but not since December 2014. Finished last of 12 over C&D to Mount Cherion in August 2016, and tough to fancy at this trip in light of recent form.
17 race maiden (including from 10 starts on the AW) and her third placing over 1m4f here in September 2016 was a distant one behind the progressive The Resdev Way. Finished behind Mount Cherion over C&D in August 2016 (sixth) and now rated just 41.

Division 2 of this Apprentices Handicap is no stronger than Division 1, so a chance is taken that SPIRIT OF THE VALE can follow up his Class 7 C&D success from last month; this time in the capable hands of rider Josh Doyle. A good run from either Highway Robber or Lord Rob in the opener will provide further confidence that this gelding can record a second career success.
