Belatedly got off the mark over hurdles at Naas last month, that was an improved effort and further progress would make him a contender here but he'll almost certainly need it.
Clonmel maiden winner, his third in valuable Fairyhouse handicap over two-miles in December is the standout piece of form and he sets the target for the others to aim at.
Clearly highly thought of by the champion trainer, scored readily at Navan on hurdles debut with runner-up an easy winner next time out. No surprise should he win this but it is certainly no penalty kick.
Narrow winner of sole hurdles start in France before making switch to powerful owner/trainer combination. Should prove a good acquisition but this is a fair test first time out.
Mare has improved with each start since going hurdling, scoring readily at Fairyhouse on New Year's Day. Her trainer is in fine form and she can have a say in the finale again.
Apparent second string for the champion trainer in this, she could not have won much easier on Tramore debut in December. Should be plenty more to offer and dangerous to write off chances despite this looking very competitive.
Forecasts
Cilaos Emery (4/9), Mick Jazz (7/1), Camelia De Cotte (7/1), Sire Du Berlais (12/1), Montana Belle (16/1), Art Of Security (20/1), Aeglos (50/1)
An enthralling race to open proceeding and despite the potentially lopsided market, it is anything but a one-horse race. Art Of Security got off the mark last time out and could be open to further improvement while Montana Belle has been getting better with each start over hurdles to date. French import Sire De Berlais is noted for connections being pitched in first time in Ireland in a hot race while Camelia De Cotte was an easy winner on debut in powerful colours. The two to focus on appear to be Mick Jazz and CILAOS EMERY, the former sets the standard based on his Fairyhouse handicap effort and will ensure that the selection is forced to justify the hype. Cilaos Emery has designs on Cheltenham next month and after winning very easily at Navan on debut, can book his trip to the Cotswolds with another success, but the dangers are most certainly lurking.
1. Cilaos Emery
2. Mick Jazz
3. Camelia De Cotte
