Forged clear to win an all-weather Bumper in good style at Lingfield in November, but floundered in the mud on hurdling bow at Wincanton on Boxing Day. Better ground here, remains of interest.
French Bumper winner who shaped with promise when chasing home Du Soleil at Haydock on his British debut.. Lengthy absence suggests issues since, but has to be respected now hurdling.
Fair NH Flat form without winning and made a decent start over hurdles when chasing home Dubai Angel at Sedgefield. Less impressive when fourth on heavy ground at Kelso next time but better ground here should see him in a better light.
Looked smart when winning a hot Newbury Bumper on his debut in 2014 but picked up an injury on his hurdling bow and wasn't sighted for two years until mid-division behind Pingshou at Cheltenham recently. Should come on for that run and, with sights lowered here, looks the one to beat.
Didn't pull up any trees in Bumpers and has cut little ice in two runs since switching his attention to hurdles. Hard to envisage him troubling the principals.
No impact in Bumpers and before pulling-up at Kelso on his hurdling debut over 2m6f. No improvement over a shorter trip next time, so hard to work up much enthusiasm for.
Runner-up in an Irish point-to-point but looked short of toe when soundly beaten in the mud over 2m at Kelso recently. Others much preferred.
Wincanton Bumper winner last spring, but hasn't quite kicked on as expected in two novice hurdle events, racing quite keenly on both occasions. Clearly no stable-star but far too early to be writing him off.
Has struggled to make any sort of impact in three Bumpers in her native Ireland, most recently at Punchestown. Looks best watched as she makes a hurdling bow for new connections.
Forecasts
Gaitway (1/2), Touch Kick (4/1), Dear Sire (11/2), Cesar Et Rosalie (8/1), Crackdeloust (14/1), Slanelough (50/1), Monfass (100/1), Multipede (100/1), Bat Sheva (100/1)
Nicky Henderson has made no secret of the high-regard he has for GAITWAY - backed-up by a couple of Cheltenham novice entries - and the lightly-raced seven-year-old could prove a cut above if his recent comeback run from injury at Cheltenham has put him straight. That said, Cesar Et Rosalie and Crackdeloust are two potentially nice recruits to timber who could pick up the pieces should he falter, while Dear Sire and Touch Kick both have hurdling form on the board and should also be competitive.
1. Gaitway
2. Dear Sire
3. Cesar Et Rosalie
