Tame effort here a fortnight was out of character as he'd been running well, should contend again but winless in eight AW starts.

Had his momentum checked at a crucial juncture over C&D a fortnight ago, can get involved once more but others appeal more for win purposes.

Won here seven days ago over the mile, goes up 4lb for that effort and drops in trip, retains some hope if still in the same form.

Form on the grass of late has not been encouraging but form early last year on AW much more appealing, first start for this trainer.

Has a decent overall record at this venue, gone close last month over 7f although beaten fair and square at this trip since. Enters calculations with useful claimer on board.

Disappointed over the mile here three weeks ago when supported. Does have some fair form at this trip.

C&D winner in October and just failed to score again in December, below form however a fortnight ago and must bounce back.

First start for this yard a week ago when racing prominently and weakening out of contention over 5f, all wins have come at the minimum trip in Britain, upped in distance now.

Forecasts

Split The Atom (2/1), Shepherd's Purse (7/2), Geological (9/2), Captain Cullen (7/1), Mo Henry (8/1), Patrick (9/1), Burn The Boats (16/1), The Burnham Mare (33/1)

Verdict

A competitive heat and it can go the way of SPLIT THE ATOM who has a perfect draw in stall one to aid his bid. He's got a promising claimer on his back and can gain a good racing position to take ensure he has a fair crack of the whip. Burn The Boats was disappointing last time over a mile but shouldn't be discounted just yet while Shepherd's Purse also needs to be forgiven a poor effort last time out. Previous form puts him in the mix, last weeks' winner Geological has more on his plate but should run well. Patrick makes some appeal on first start for new trainer based on his previous AW form. 1. Split The Atom 2. Geological 3. Shepherd's Purse
