Made light of a troubled passage to score cosily over C&D last month, goes up 6lb for that effort but looks set to get involved again.

Flopped here a fortnight when ridden to challenge, goes up in trip here and is possibly most effective at 1m4f.

Just held on to win over 1m2f at this venue 28 days ago, goes up in trip for this and with an extra 4lb to carry that is something of a concern for the follow-up bid.

Winner over C&D in November but has struggled in three subsequent runs to land a blow off increased handicap mark and looks held for now.

Off since June, has gone close around here over shorter trips in four previous visits, must prove 1m4f is what he wants.

Not getting any easier to predict with age won here over 1m2f last February off 1lb higher mark, two recent outings over jumps were below par.

First run for this yard saw him finish respectably fourth of 14 in a maiden over 1m2f, goes up in trip and not without some merit in a race like this if stamina holds out.

Handicap mark continues to drop and while recent form is nothing to write home about, dangerous to write the mare off completely. She should get competitive soon.

Career-best effort when winning C&D in November by a short-head, unable to repeat that effort when making sole appearance since three weeks ago. Needs to bounce back.

Bit disappointing on handicap bow here a week ago off this mark but wasn't given an especially tough race and should be capable of better.

Was in terrific form around here early last year, winning twice, has had a break now after summer campaign on the grass for new trainer and weighted to have a big say in this if fit for return.

Stayed on late to be fourth of 14 in C&D apprentice race in November, that was first AW run and should be more to offer now.

First reserve for this and form on turf suggests he'll struggle if making AW debut in this.

War Goddess (4/1), Duchessofflorence (5/1), Rabbie The Bard (7/1), Bittern (7/1), Alnahar (7/1), Black Label (10/1), Carraigin Aonair (10/1), Tommy Welsh (11/1), Sharjah (12/1), Commander Won (12/1), Sea of Blue (20/1), Park Row (20/1), Lex Talionis (20/1), Khabaray (22/1), Jack Blue (25/1), Illusive Force (25/1), Wither Hills (33/1)

Verdict

WAR GODDESS didn't have a tough race on handicap bow here seven days ago and should do better now. Her maiden run was a good one over C&D and it shouldn't be long until the filly gets her head in front. Duchessofflorence didn't get a straightforward run when scoring over C&D last month but came through nicely and merits plenty respect despite the hike. Khabaray and Commander Won will have a say if building on prior runs at the track but potentially of more interest is Sea of Blue. She was in excellent heart here early last year, winning twice amid some consistent efforts, and is weighted to go close on return from a break if fully wound up. 1. War Goddess 2. Duchessofflorence 3. Sea of Blue
