Fast ground point-to-point winner who has been tried over both hurdles and more recently fences, showing little. Handicapper has not yet seen enough to drop him below 100 and he disappointed when favourite last time, so he still looks one more likely for another day. Nonetheless a market check is advised.
Hurdles successes were with cut in the ground and on his best from that sphere he has a few pounds in hand here. Not done too badly in a couple of chases and not ruled out in an open heat.
Won handicap chases at Hereford and Huntingdon, both at around this trip, off marks of 86 and 93, though found out after a 12lb rise last time. Acts with cut and after being eased 2lb he remains one to fear in a race of this nature.
Scored at both Hexham (heavy) and Carlisle (soft) at around two miles in December and ran well enough from today's mark at Newcastle last time. Consistent and a leading player.
All three wins were in France on heavy ground, at 2m to 2m 2f. Well beaten on all four starts for current yard and has tumbled down the weights as a result. Not difficult to oppose today unless there is a weight of support for him.
Moderate hurdler who has done a little better since going chasing, making the frame in two of his three starts. Acts with cut and handicapper is giving him a chance today.
Made the frame once from 15 attempts in Ireland and now has his first run for new trainer whose few runners have been going quite well of late.
Chasing debutant whose two wins were on the Flat and seems best suited by a sound surface. Readily opposed.
Has been creeping closer to success over fences with every pound that the handicapper has dropped him, though back up 1lb today after his best effort yet at Sedgefield last time. Can still be competitive in this poor contest.
Won over 2m 0.5f at Sedgefield (soft) in November from a mark of 73 and not a bad effort in context when he returned there last time, though the handicapper does look to have his measure again for now.

Hardly a race to get heavily involved with and with consistency at a premium we will take HALCYON DAYS in the hope that his usual steady performance can see him home in front. Bladoun is arguably well treated and can have a say in proceedings, while Alchimix and Caprice D'anglais are others who could pick up some prize money.
