French import who clearly has ability, as shown when the ready winner at Auteuil in October (very soft). Has since joined current connections and went well for a long way at Lingfield before falling when appearing beaten (3m, heavy). Hard to be dogmatic about his initial BHA rating, though it would be no great surprise of he was good enough to defy top weight.
Fast ground Taunton winner in December off 125, so more needed here. Races over his optimum trip and has twice won on heavy ground so forecast going should be no concern. Claims.
After a couple of runner-up efforts over fences he came good in a similar race to this at Newbury last time (2m 0.5f, soft) from a mark of 125, Up 4lb for that staying-on success and entitled to plenty of respect.
Mudlark who won twice over hurdles. Last start in that sphere was from a mark of 126 at Haydock in November, so dropped 1lb for this chasing debut. Far from ruled out on going that is likely to suit.
Possibly unlucky when coming down with every chance at Chepstow two starts ago, though jumped right when a beaten favourite at Exeter last time. Interesting now dropped in trip as all three wins have been at around 2m 4f, so will need to make this a true test to play to his strengths.
Forecasts
Baby King (9/4), Zanstra (9/4), Casse Tete (9/2), Astre De La Cour (5/1), Theatre Flame (11/2)
A really interesting novices' chase where you can make a case out for all five of them, though now that THEATRE FLAME has got his nose in front, we will stick with him to stay there. Casse Tete is very interesting on his second start since joining Gary Moore, Baby King could do significantly better now jumping fences, while forcing tactics would bring Zanstra's proven staimna to the fore.
1. Theatre Flame
2. Casse Tete
3. Baby King
