Golden Miller Handicap Hurdle

All three wins have been with plenty of cut in the ground, so conditions are to his liking. Handicapper had him pegged at 135 as a novice and if that was remotely accurate then he must have some sort of chance off today's pitch.

Aside from veering left on the run-in, there was plenty to like about his Exeter win (2m 7f, good) in November, but he departed at the first on his chase debut next time and was involved in Wincanton's void race on Boxing Day. Connections quick to switch him back to hurdles and if he can pick up the thread from Exeter than no reason why he can't go well, though now 11lb higher.

Recorded back-to-back wins over similar trips at Ffos Las and Chepstow in November, though been well beaten in better races since. Yard is tremendous form now, so a better effort not discounted.

Runner-up three times from five starts over obstacles including over C&D in November. Well beaten on handicap debut here last time, though a 3lb drop will help.

Trip and ground suit this Monsun gelding, who went well at Uttoxeter in December, though was never a factor at Wincanton last time. Majority of recent form suggests that he remains one to oppose.

First semblance of a decent effort since switching to handicaps came at Kempton last time (2m 1f, good). 1lb drop today and given his connections, another improved effort is entirely possible.

Interesting contender on his first start in a handicap, having shown glimpses of ability on his two most recent runs at Ffos Las (2m, heavy) and Chepstow (2m 3f, heavy). Initial mark of 114 looks no more than fair, but stable well capable of working with it and he gets his conditions again. Market check is advised.

Both jumps wins were in France and none since 2014. Joined current yard over a year ago, though did not race for almost a full year and has not shown much in either outing this year. A 9lb drop will help and with the yard's runners going well enough and no stranger to a gamble, keep an eye on the market.

0-4 under rules to date and initial handicap mark looks tough enough so perhaps best watched at present.

Ran well for a long way at Towcester this time last year, though flopped at this trip when favourite next time. Returns from an 11-month absence, though yard never far away from the winner's enclosure are well capable of readying one first time, especially from marks like this, so the market is likely to tell us more.

1lb rise for a decent effort at Market Rasen last time looks fair for this mudlark who has won both from today's mark and 5lb higher in the past. Has been introduced to the tongue strap and then cheek pieces in each of his last two runs and both are retained today, with top pilot booked. Interesting.

All three jumps wins have been over fences at Market Rasen, though has made the frame in a hurdle here. Switched back to this discipline last time and ran with credit at Bangor, though back up again in the weights and we will take him on.
