Switches back to chasing for this and has been doing ok over hurdles recently but this is a stiff ask off top weight.
Disappointed on first start for this trainer last month and overall profile suggests he'll find at least one too good again.
Disappointing favourite at Roscommon in October when last seen, that was over 3m1f on heavy ground, can do much better here on better surface/shorter trip.
Has been out of sorts in two runs since returning from a break, positive jockey booking for this and pick of form gives him every chance on current rating.
Remote third at Cork last time out, blinkers on now to try and sharpen him up and could be involved if having the desired effect.
C&D winner last month, doing it in good style and 6lb penalty shouldn't stop him going close again.
Runner-up to Courtncatcher over C&D last month and weighted to be very close to that rival now, should be involved at the end.
Effort quickly petered out at Limerick last month over 2m6f, gets some minor relief from handicapper but will take much more to get involved in the finish.
Good fourth at Galway when last seen in October, that would put him in the mix for this off reduced rating.
Ran a good race over two-miles at Naas earlier this month, doing all his best work at the finish so the extra yardage here looks a benefit.
Took the field along in the C&D race won by Courtncatcher last month, races off the same mark now and difficult to see how he'll turn that form around.
Hasn't won a race of any sort since 2013 and remains a maiden after a dozen tries in this sphere, latest when pulled up at Cork this month.
Forecasts
Aurora Bell (4/1), Katnap (9/2), Thomond (6/1), Bearly Legal (13/2), Courtncatcher (7/1), Eiri Na Casca (10/1), After Aspen (10/1), Fr Humphrey (10/1), Forty Foot Tom (20/1), Tavern Times (20/1), Sir Harry Cash (20/1), Bottle Rattler (25/1)
Eiri Na Casca should be well suited by this step up in trip and looks likely to get involved in the finish while the frustrating Katnap gets another chance to prove himself on second start for current trainer. Aurora Bell let his supporters down when last seen but this trip and the likely ground can see him to much better effect. COURTNCATCHER hasn't been harshly treated for last month's C&D success and will take beating if replicating that effort while runner-up Thomond should also be there or thereabouts again.
1. Courtncatcher
2. Aurora Bell
3. Eiri Na Casca
