Consistent chaser and was running another solid race before falling at Navan early December, given time to recover and must be on the shortlist.
A worry that he's failed to complete in two of three chase starts but did win the other and looked booked for follow-up here last month on handicap debut over C&D when crashing out at the last obstacle. Up 5lb for his trouble but should be right there if staying up.
Some promise as a chaser in spring of 2015 but was then sidelined for more than 500 days, struggling in a couple of handicap hurdles at Cork this winter and others preferred now he goes chasing again.
Good run at Naas earlier month behind Slowmotion, that just second start over fences and has chance on handicap bow.
Just modest efforts over fences this season but could have more to offer now getting going in handicap company.
Long losing sequence dates back to 2014 and despite getting some more relief from the handicapper now he looks exposed.
Has been disappointing in two most recent runs at Fairyhouse and Clonmel off a break and needs to produce a career-best to land this.
Won a Tramore handicap chase off 106 in October, fit from recent run over hurdles as he attempts to defy 6lb rise in this.
Ran a good race here last month and takes a drop in trip now, trainer in good form and his horses are respected.
Winless from six starts over fences, would be a fair shock should be manage to avoid extending that sequence.
Isn't always the most reliable but ran a really pleasing race on recent comeback at Naas when second over two-miles, extra distance no issue now and 3lb rise looks fair.
Forecasts
Pulled Mussel (4/1), Dallas Cowboy (9/2), Powersbomb (11/2), Elusive Ivy (6/1), King's Wharf (6/1), Samanntom (9/1), Fair Return (9/1), Ronava (16/1), Mister Hotelier (20/1), Deano (20/1), Follow The Sign (25/1)
Dallas Cowboy didn't enjoy the clearest run when third at this track last month and should run another positive race for his shrewd trainer but slight preference is for PULLED MUSSEL on the strength of his reappearance at Naas this month. He's not the most reliable customer but shaped well and can go one better off just a 3lb higher mark. King's Wharf on the other hand is usually reliable and should be on the premises having had time to get over a Thurles fall in December. Powersbomb was travelling like the winner over C&D last month when coming down at the last, he's a big danger but has failed to get around in two of three chase starts and he gets a hike for last month's failure. Samanntom won his last start over fences in October and has fitness on his side from hurdling now back at this game.
1. Pulled Mussel
2. Powersbomb
3. Dallas Cowboy
