Smart hurdler made winning start over fences here last month, getting up close home over 2m3f. Drops in trip and has to be respected for champion trainer.
Looked a very talented novice chaser when winning both starts before something went wrong here last month. That remains a worry now but will take all the beating if fully recovered.
Made every yard to score decisively on chase debut at Thurles over 2m2f before Christmas. Drops in trip and tactics will be interesting here, this is much tougher and won't get an easy lead but merits a good deal of respect.
Was going very well in Cheltenham Grade Two when falling in November, none the worse for that when making amends with decisive Naas success early this month and holds a great chance in this race again.
Forecasts
Bleu Et Rouge (15/8), Identity Thief (2/1), Some Plan (10/3), Royal Caviar (5/1)
Despite Min's withdrawal late this week, a fascinating four-runner field has assembled with all of the protagonists holding realistic claims. Royal Caviar dominated to score easily at Thurles on chase bow but will not get things as easy now while Bleu Et Rouge might just lack the speed to win at this trip in this company. A nagging doubt over Identity Thief's well-being persists given he was pulled up lame here just a month ago. For that reason, stablemate SOME PLAN gets the vote to maintain his upward curve. He has been excellent over fences bar one error at Cheltenham in November but he bounced back in style recently at Naas and can land a second big prize of the week for his Thyestes-winning owner/trainer combination.
1. Some Plan
2. Identity Thief
3. Bleu Et Rouge
