Yet to win over fences despite having plenty of attempts but turned in a decent effort at Musselburgh last time out. Only raised a 1lb for that effort and looks well handicapped on some form but can make mistakes and finish weakly.
Fell on chasing debut but bounced back to win at Lingfield off a 2lb lower mark. Well below that form since then in two starts both over shorter trips than today but may find this going more suitable.
Best effort over fences came on his debut at Taunton when finishing second. Struggled with his fencing last time out at Plumpton and travelled none too well - may yet do better over fences if he can tidy up his jumping.
Still a maiden under Rules and just two starts over fences so far both of which have been underwhelming. Fell on debut at Bangor and was again let down by his jumping at Taunton last time out.
Multiple point-to-point winner but shown very little over hurdles and was pulled-up in a handicap last time out at Uttoxeter. Now switched to fences and goes straight into handicap company.
Another multiple winning point-to point winner who landed a Lingfield handicap chase off a lowly mark in November when she was thrown-in on her point-to-point form. Has struggled in two starts since although the first of those may have come too quickly after the Lingfield win and didn't really show much over hurdles on her last start.
Not run over fences for nearly two years and has been hurdling in the interim winning at Taunton on his penultimate start over 3m. Still yet to win over fences and not the most consistent of types and has so far failed to convince over fences.
Four modest starts over hurdles so far and started at a big price on each occasion and would need to show more on his chasing debut to make an impact here.
Pulled-up on his last two chase starts when going with very little promise and surprising if he could show anything here.
Made an impression on his first start over fences at Fontwell when wearing the cheekpieces and tongue-tie combination for the first time. Failed to follow that up at the same course next time out but would be of interest on that initial piece of chasing form.
Poor maiden chaser (0/9 overall) and has ended up on the floor the last twice and runs from 9lb out of the handicap here.
Forecasts
Sweettoothtommy (3/1), St Johns Point (5/1), King Charlie (7/1), Galros Lady (7/1), Better Days (17/2), Dropzone (9/1), Fuhgeddaboudit (10/1), The Mythologist (12/1), Comical Red (16/1), Captains Horse (20/1), Creative Boru (100/1)
Most of this field have question marks against them and there isn’t that much solid form to go on although that does give ST JOHNS POINT a chance of opening his account over fences. He’s hardly a world beater but a repeat of his Musselburgh second ought to be enough to enable him to go close here. Based on his point-to-point form The Mythologist looks like he could be one to take an interest in back from a break and going handicapping over fences looking more his bag than running over hurdles. Better Days needs to rebound from a couple of poor effort but the better ground may well help him and Sweettoothtommyshouldn’t be totally written off if he can revert to his debut second over fences. King Charlie is another to throw in the mix on his penultimate run and off a basement mark he’s not out of this.
1. St Johns Point
2. The Mythologist
3. Sweettoothtommy
