Consistent this season behind some very good novice chasers. Has to contend with top weight here but has his conditions and it would be no surprise to see him go close.
Returns from a 600+ day lay off to make his chasing debut off his hurdles mark of 118. Difficult to say how he'll do off the lay-off, especially switching to the larger obstacles, but has run well in better races than this before.
Has not been disgraced in some better races than this of late and as a former point winner should be suited by stepping up in trip once again. Should make another bold bid.
Stuck to the task gamely to win a similar contest over C&D last time. Goes up 9lb but has improved massively switching to fences fences for respected rookie trainer and not out of the question he could improve again.
Inconsistent sort who seemed to improve for the cheek pieces he was wearing when staying on strongly to win at Musselburgh last time. Must take a step forward under a penalty but if on one of his better days he should run a big race.
Consistent novice hurdler who makes his debut over fences today off a fair mark of 107. Will like the ground and is entitled to go well with the assistance of a top jockey.
Hasn't won since taken a maiden hurdle here last March. Continues to slide down the handicap but no reason think that it won't be another lackluster performance over fences today.
Forecasts
Cabragh (2/1), Rolling Thunder (4/1), Play The Ace (13/2), Kilcullen Flem (7/1), Bassarabad (8/1), Allthegear No Idea (8/1), Lower Hope Dandy (17/2)
First-time cheekpieces seemed to help the improving ROLLING THUNDER at Musselburgh last time, and the strong stayer has to be feared if not falling victim to his inconsistency again. He is given the nod ahead of the improving Cabragh, who ground out a C&D win a few weeks ago and Play The Ace, whose handicap mark has been slipping recently on account of filling the minor places in some better races than this. A replication of that form should be enough for him to be competitive with some progressive novices here.
1. Rolling Thunder
2. Cabragh
3. Play The Ace
