Excelled in good company at Kempton producing an impressive turn of foot. Stable in good form and it will take something special to beat him.

Craggaknock25
Age: 14|  Weight: 11-8| J: Jake Greenall| T: M Walford| OR:  135
8/1
Has done nothing wrong in landing two races at Wetherby. Form of latest victory looks below this standard but the way he went about his business suggested he has more to offer.

Crievehill11
Age: 13|  Weight: 11-8| J: Sam Twiston-Davies| T: N & W Twiston-Davies| OR:  121
12/1
Settled better in first time hood to score at Lingfield. Represents an in-form yard that do well at this fixture but this is a big step up in class.

Neon Wolf20
Age: 14|  Weight: 11-8| J: N D Fehily| T: H Fry
4/5
Potentially smart judged by the ease with which he has disposed of his rivals in both starts for new yard. Although this race will ask more serious questions it would be no surprise to see him take this en-route to better things.

Age: 14|  Weight: 11-4| J: Henry Brooke| T: James Moffatt| OR:  117
100/1
Smart performer on flat for Godolphin in 2014. Clearly has the ability to win races over hurdles but the latest evidence suggests he may need to wait for another day.

Master Of Finance25
Age: 14|  Weight: 11-4| J: B S Hughes| T: J M Jefferson| OR:  125

Looks to have a bit to find with Craggaknock judged on latest effort when he did not jump too well. Hard to see him troubling the principals.

Mohaayed26
Age: 13|  Weight: 11-4| J: Harry Skelton| T: D Skelton
12/1
Sixth in the 2015 Irish 2000 Guineas but he looked a shadow of that horse last season. Switch to new career suggests he may have rediscovered his enthusiasm. Readily outpointed by Elgin on Boxing Day but with that experience under his belt he may be more of a threat here. Stable won this last year.

Forecasts

Neon Wolf (4/5), Elgin (3/1), Craggaknock (8/1), Crievehill (12/1), Mohaayed (12/1), Master Of Finance (25/1), Golden Town (100/1)

Verdict

ELGIN was so impressive at Kempton on Boxing Day that he is hard to oppose here. He was always travelling well before unleashing a decisive turn of foot after the second last to seal victory. Mohaayed chased him home that day and may be more dangerous with that run under his belt. Neon Wolf is feared on the back of two bloodless victories in his country. He looks every inch a chaser and he may find the flat speed of ELGIN and Mohaayed too much for him. 1. Elgin 2. Mohaayed 3. Neon Wolf
