Four of her five AW victories have come at Wolverhampton, but she was only ninth of ten in a 1m4f Class 5 handicap there on her return from a short break on Boxing Day. This grade is easier, but not run at this track since July 2014.
A peculiar winter campaign which has featured racing over hurdles, fences and on the AW. A distant fourth of eight last time on the Fibresand at Southwell, but this is much easier. Clear chance on official ratings on Lingfield Polytrack debut.
A winner of 14 races under rules, including three on the AW (once here back in 2012). Now a ten-year-old and clearly in decline. However, whilst well below par since August 2016, this race is very weak, so seemingly could bounce back.

In truth, this race is an absolute stinker, and it's hard to argue a compelling case for any of the four runners. However, there has to be a winner, and it makes sense to side with current form over official ratings. Therefore, EL CAMPEON gets the vote despite shouldering top-weight, and conceding pounds to very similar rated horses on official handicap marks.
