More than four years since he last ran over hurdles and has been toiling over fences of late. On a promising mark if the switch rekindles his appetite however.
Well held in fourth when switched back to hurdles at Punchestown on New Year's Eve, races off same mark now.
Was in trouble a fair way from home at Leopardstown over this trip on handicap bow last month. Races off same mark here, could be more in him.
Right in contention at the last over three-miles on second start off a break late last month. Drops in trip here and entitled to have a say now race-fit.
Good effort on switch back to hurdles on New Year's Day over a trip that was plenty sharp, goes up in distance here and can pose a threat.
Pulled up last start in May but had previously been progressive, no problems going well fresh and while he must prove himself off current mark, is not without hope.
Generally going well this winter, latest runner-up finish at Limerick was over two-miles and step back up in distance here should suit.
Pulled up two of three starts over fences this season, switches back to hurdles here but has plenty questions to answer.
Been very busy in this sphere so far this season, this will be eighth run since October, consistent enough but doesn't really look like winning a race on current form.
First start for 642 days and has switched yards but jockey booking will catch plenty eyes here, an interesting contender but may need this.
Mixing some half-promising efforts with really laboured stuff this winter, has switched yards now and hard to recommend for betting purposes here.
Went close at Clonmel in November off 3lbs lower, not quite in the same form two starts since but cannot be discounted.
Form over fences when landing double at Cork/Limerick recently suggests he is thrown in here off much lower hurdles mark. Must prove he is as good over these obstacles.
Stable bow at Leopardstown last month was atrocious, steps up in trip here but has it all to do with being 5lbs wrong at the weights.
Forecasts
Westerner Point (9/4), Tinos Tank (11/2), Bilko (6/1), Inch Rise (7/1), Prince Kup (10/1), Fruits Of Glory (12/1), Eight Till Late (16/1), Hollow Tree (16/1), Monasteradenpauric (20/1), Golden Plan (22/1), Realt Mor (25/1), Folsom Blue (25/1), Able Dash (33/1), Do No Complain (40/1)
WESTERNER POINT is intriguing here given he races off such a lenient mark relative to his recent form over fences. It is never a guarantee that will translate across but his chance is a clear one if it does. Hollow Tree has been off the course for a long time but his trainer has booked the champion jockey to steer on this return. Inch Rise may have lacked for fitness/stamina over three-miles last time out and can have a say now dropped in trip while Tinos Tank is also of interest going in the opposite direction trip-wise after his Limerick second last month, a comment that also applies to Eight Till Late.
1. Westerner Point
2. Tinos Tank
3. Eight Till Late
