Been struggling a touch since winning a brace of handicaps in the 2015/16 season and further softening of the ground would be a positive for him.

Only one from 24 under all codes but that win did come at this track and he did run well on his only other start at Plumpton, which was over this course and distance.

Still a maiden after 11 starts under rules and hard to fancy him on anything he's shown to date.

Second start over fences and not one that wins very often (1/18 record under rules). Needs to show significant improvement from his chase debut at Hereford last month.

Consistent type but finds winning difficult, with career figures of 1/48. 0/14 over fences but on the positive side his one career win did come on soft ground.

Patchy form in recent times, failing to complete in four of his last six starts. He did win this race last year from a 3lb higher mark so promise on that score but needs to show plenty more based on recent form.

Forecasts

Triple Chief (11/4), Very Live (11/4), Easter In Paris (7/2), Alottarain (5/1), Yourholidayisover (7/1), Goring Two (12/1), No No Cardinal (16/1)

Verdict

Hard to recommend anything with confidence here but TRIPLE CHIEF does at least have a course win to his name, will handle the testing conditions and has enough going for him here to come out on top. VERY LIVE Also goes well here and is back down to a winnable mark whilst last years winner GORING TWO could bounce back to form at a track he knows well. 1. Triple Chief 2. Very Live 3. Goring Two
