Impressed at Fontwell on Boxing day with a smooth victory and looks the one to beat here.
Pulled up on both starts to date and looks one for handicaps.
Decent flat performer for his previous yard and starts over hurdles today for trainer and jockey that do well at track.

Won his second bumper start in commanding fashion and followed that up with a decent third at Huntingdon on hurdles debut. Made no sort of impact at Newbury last time out but this is significantly easier.

Finished strongly on bumper debut in Ireland in September and was subsequently snapped up bu current connections on the cheap. Pedigree suggests chasing will be the long term aim.

Shown very little in four starts under rules to date, once in a bumper and then in three runs over hurdles.

Maiden on the flat and yet to score in two starts over hurdles. Needs to show a lot more here and likely to be better in handicaps once she gets a mark.

Rules debut. Trainer not renowned for winners on hurdles debut (0/15 since start of 2012).

Decent enough form on the flat, winning twice at Chelmsford, and was going well when unseating two out on hurdles debut at Ffos Las. Jumping was scrappy next time out at Doncaster but not without a chance if jumping has improved since.

Forecasts

Bastien (10/11), Not Never (7/4), The Caller (9/2), Up The Navan Road (14/1), Work (16/1), Funny Oyster (66/1), Gentleman's Dream (100/1), Miss Joans (100/1), Ermyn's Edith (150/1)

Verdict

Alan King's BASTIEN is very much the one to beat here and a repeat of his Fontwell victory last time out should see him make it two from two over hurdles. WORK is interesting if connections have sharpened up her jumping and NOT NEVER commands plenty of respect for the Moores. 1. Bastien 2. Work 3. Not Never
