Made good progress as a novice but posted only a modest effort on his return at Hereford last month. Interesting that his yard had several options for the race, so one to bear in mind if the vibes are positive from the betting market.
Showed promise in a handful of starts on the Flat for Luca Cumani before switching to spend a couple of seasons in Italy. Now with a top yard and likely to be found a race before too long. A serious contender if his jumping holds together - confidence is tempered by a slow round of jumping in a novices' event at Doncaster latest.
Useful form in Irish points and has shown an aptitude for racing under rules with two promising efforts at Towcester and Hereford. Best when able to dominate but debatable as to whether this flat surface will play to his strengths if this develops into a dash for the line.
Still a maiden but he is a consistent type that has made steady progress under the tutelage of Nigel Twiston-Davies. Wasn't beaten far in each of his last three starts and has to merit serious consideration in a heat like this. Today's pilot, having caught the eye with a confident display in the saddle at Cheltenham on New Year's Day, is another plus point for the geldings chances.
Seemed to be sharpened up for the fitting of blinkers at Wetherby last November but failed to build on that last time out. The ground ought not to be an issue for this fellow but he has a little prove over a trip that may be on the sharp side for him.
In the process of running a big race before a blunder at last knocked him off kilter at Taunton a fortnight ago. Needs to improve but has place claims if his jumping holds together this time around.
Has yet to really convince that he is in love with the game and needs to show a more determined attitude before he can be recommended with sterling confidence. The fitting of blinkers may help - but others look more resolute at this stage.
Another who makes his handicap debut on a fair mark and is in the right hands to pay his way if given time. He has a big frame to fill but is not without ability. He is a keen sort so may be a tricky ride for an inexperienced rider. That said, he would be dangerous to underestimate if he is allowed an easy lead and may be capable of a bold show over a trip that should suit.
Showed ability at provincial courses in France as a youngster but he has failed to live up to the promise in four starts in the UK. He was handed an almost impossible taken in the Champion bumper at Aintree last year and has shown very little in three outings over obstacles to justify those lofty aspirations. Hard to fancy today.
His yard is showing signs of a revival but this fellow is an obvious lesser light given the strength-depth amongst his stablemate. Not difficult to see why the handicapper is already cutting him some slack and he another who needs others to underperform if he is going to figure at the business end. His jockey should enjoy a safe conveyance though.

Wicked Willy (7/2), Vinnie Lewis (4/1), Capsis Desbois (5/1), Carry On Sydney (7/1), Camron De Chaillac (8/1), Sensible Simpson (10/1), Walkami (12/1), Peppay Le Pugh (12/1), Volt Face (14/1), Cheque En Blanc (14/1), Barkis (14/1), Golan Dancer (33/1)
A competitive race for the grade as a handful of these have the ability to make this a good test of stamina. Wicked Willy is one who will love that scenario and he is given the nod to shake off his maiden tag today. Barkis and Capsis Desbois are others who should revel under the conditions, while Peppay Le Pugh is a likely type to pay his way before too long.
