A Presenting mare (out of Jigs'n Reels) who clearly learned plenty when fourth on debut at Kelso, staying on strongly to take a similar mares NHF race at Carlisle on her second start last month. This galloping track promises to suit her, but she has a winners penalty to shoulder (albeit with a capable jockey negating 5lbs of that penalty).
Unraced £1,700 three-year-old purchase. Black Sam Bellamy mare (out of Cosavita).
Unraced €25,000 three-year-old purchase. 12th foal, half sister to winners Midnight Gift, Hidden Agent, My Wigwam Or Yours and Crocus Bay. From an in-form stable, worth a glance in the market.
Unraced £8,500 three-year-old purchase by Westerner (out of Hello My Lovely). From a yard who has saddled NHF winners here before (notably Virnon).
€56,000 Punchestown April (2015) purchase following comfortable Dromahane Irish PTP success earlier that month. A most disappointing odds on favourite, pulled hard from the outset, but lost place after 6f and struggling when puled up halfway on Carlisle NHF debut in March. Surely capable of better, with this softer surface likely to suit if wiser for that Carlisle experience.
€6,000 three-year-old purchase by Getaway (out of Call Her Again). Well beaten on both starts in bumpers this season, with hurdles campaign likely soon on the agenda.
£15,000 purchase at the November 2016 Cheltenham Sale. By Oscar (out of Grande Solitaire), was successful on the last of her four Irish PTP starts in a 3m mares maiden at Loughanmore in October. Stable debut.
Finished mid pack after racing mid division on NHF debut at Catterick in late November. By Oscar, and out of Saitenrolle sports a German pedgiree, fetching only £1,300 as a foal.
Seventh foal and half sister to five winners including Attaglance, but has only beaten one horse home in two starts so far in bumpers at Sedgefield and Wetherby. From a leading Northern yard, but needs to do much more to figure here.

Forecasts

Illwalktheline (15/8), Lethegoodtimesroll (9/4), Princess Mononoke (5/1), Bitumen Belle (7/1), Strands Of Velvet (12/1), Biddy Black (25/1), Virtually Ours (28/1), Harrisons Promise (80/1), Off The Hook (80/1)

Verdict

A race in which the key players look the obvious ones. Connections of Lethegoodtimesroll must have been bitterly disappointed with her debut at Carlisle in March, but she has been allowed plenty of time to recover and hails from a yard that does well with ex-pointers in NHF races (most notably this year with Ravenshill Road). Princess Mononoke has a similar looking profile, and with proven stamina over further will be well suited by the rain which continues to fall. However, ILLWALKTHELINE improved massively from first start to second, and hailing from a yard which has a good record in bumpers at this track, she may well be up-to carrying a penalty (much of which is negated by her useful riders claim). 1. Illwalktheline 2. Lethegoodtimesroll 3. Princess Mononoke
