Rarely runs a bad race but his recent form suggests there may be better handicapped rivals in this. Stable is in form and does well with chasers at the track.

Potentially well treated judged on his hurdling form in Ireland. Highly tried on both starts over fences and this looks easier and he should be thereabouts.

Smart novice hurdler who makes his chasing debut. His handicap mark looks plenty high enough and he faces a stiff task here.

Disappointing last season but bounced back on his chasing debut last time. He faces a sterner test off a 7lb higher mark and has shown a tendency to hang left in the past which will be a concern around here. Stable won this race last year.

Outclassed last time but the form of his Huntingdon victory suggests he will be competitive off today's mark. Steps up in distance here but shapes as though that will not be an issue.

Poker School9
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-7| J: R Johnson| T: Ian Williams| OR:  125

A winner on both his previous starts at this venue. Impressive at Ascot last week and makes plenty of appeal despite an 8lb hike in the weights.

Remiluc31
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-6| J: S Bowen| T: C Gordon| OR:  124

In here on a good mark judged on his hurdling form. Not disgraced on his chasing debut last month and this longer trip should see him to better effect. Jockey rides him for the first time and easy to see him running a big race.

Forecasts

Gold Present (11/4), Poker School (7/2), Max Ward (5/1), Two Taffs (6/1), Remiluc (6/1), Sizing Tennessee (13/2), San Benedeto (9/1)

Verdict

REMILUC has a 12lb higher mark over hurdles and could have been let in lightly here. He was a staying on third over a shorter trip at Newbury last time and in receipt of weight all round, he is the value pick. Poker School is a much better horse going right-handed as he proved at Ascot last time and he should run well whilst Sizing Tennessee drops in class and also rates a big danger in a tricky-looking contest. 1. Remiluc 2. Poker School 3. Sizing Tennessee
