Tailed off when last seen at Wetherby two months ago. Gets the good ground he needs and wears a hood for the first time in two years. Jockey rode him to his latest victory at Wincanton 14 months ago.
Becoming a course specialist with two wins and a head loss in his last three races here. Up 5lb for that latest second but on the same mark he won on here last April. A leading contender.
Slight drop in class from his Sandown fourth six weeks ago when he jumped sketchily. Definitely the class horse in the field and worthy favourite if he can improve his jumping.
Stayer on the flat and has been competing over longer distances over hurdles. Cheekpieces and tongue-tie applied for the first time but will probably be tapped for toe.
Last won nearly two years ago and usually partnered by Robert Williams who rides Borak. Long price probably justified.
Forecasts
Hint Of Mint (8/11), Royal Irish Hussar (5/1), Ascendant (8/1), Regulation (11/1), Man Of Plenty (12/1), Borak (16/1), Global Thrill (16/1)
HINT OF MINT has a lot going for him here and he could take all the beating. He loves this course and ground and should come home in front of ROYAL IRISH HUSSAR.. Regulation who has every chance if regaining his form of last Autumn whilst the inconstant Borak could compete for a place if he runs to his better form.
1. Hint Of Mint
2. Royal Irish Hussar
3. Regulation
