There aren’t many here that will want any cut in the ground, on the evidence we know about, anyway.
Old Tyger Bay will love it but at the age of nine he isn’t getting any faster, and might be playing for a place. I’ll take a chance with FLAG OF ST GEORGE, who does have a question mark against in so far as a drop back to six furlongs isn’t guaranteed to produce a better effort, but he will appreciate a return to turf (will handle the ground) and as a potential pace angle, stall 1 might be a good place to work from.
Starting to look very well handicapped and should take advantage of that this autumn.

We saw JIMMY SPEAKING in the paddock at York last time and he looked a picture, very fit and well, and I turned to my work partner Vicki and just said “Yarmouth” to her.
I do that a lot, it both baffles and delights her and on the odd occasion when I’m right, it makes me look a genius. Let’s hope that’s the case here.
Jimmy Speaking hasn’t run at all badly on his last two starts, including that hot York handicap, but has given the impression 11f/12f is a bit too far for him and this drop back to 9f looks a positive move.
The ground should be ideal too, all three of his turf wins coming on good or good to soft ground according to Timeform, and owners Strawberry Fields Stud, who sponsor a race on the Tuesday, do like to have a winner at this meeting.
