Testing ground at Hamilton today with the track heavy in places, and that always helps narrow the fields for punters.
Impartiality is favourite here which makes some sense given he’s a C&D winner who arrives on the back of several solid efforts, but those efforts do suggest that the handicapper has the gelding where he wants him, and he looks vulnerable for win purposes once more.
EL MATADOR could be the one on his first start on testing ground since his juvenile debut when he ran a cracker to be second. He’s done okay on faster turf since that debut but we know he handles the ground and his pedigree suggests he’ll improve again for it, being by Lope de Vega, who gets more than his share of soft-ground winners, out of the mare Bulrushes, who has already produced a couple of proven mudlarks in Ross Castle and Snazzy Jazzy.
El Matador has made the frame on all four starts this season, never beaten more than a length and a half, and if he can improve at all for getting back on softer turf, he is expected top go well against more exposed rivals.

The ability to handle deep ground and an undulating track makes PARISIAC look the best bet here and while he stays 6f well enough, his record on soft/heavy over 5f reads 814121.
He’s only raced once here on testing ground, finishing second, but has won twice on good ground so copes well with the track and he’s now back on the mark off which he scored here in June.
He’s better than ever at the age of seven and the combination of ground and track should enable him to hit the frame at least here.
