Our in-form daily duo Rory Delargy and David Massey provide their thoughts on today's racing action.
Racing betting tips: Monday October 19
1pt win Prince Of Pillo in the 18:00 Southwell at 9/1 (General) - min 8/1
0.5pts e.w. Paladin in the 19:00 Southwell at 40/1 (sky Bet, bet365 1/5 1,2,3,4) - min 33/1

We’re both of the opinion PRINCE OF PILLO is going to pop up at some point this autumn, having come a fair way down the handicap this season and is now dropping into Class 5 company. Two runs this autumn have been very much ones with an eye to the future, we feel, and he should start to be getting somewhere near full fitness after a summer break. A reproduction of his close sixth in a 0-85 contest would give him every chance today, and as we say, even if it turns out not to be today, he’s one we’ll be interested in under similar conditions in the near future.

PALADIN is a big price here after a few below-par efforts but he has a bit more going for him than it first appears.
Not least his record on Tapeta in general, and here at Southwell in particular. Two runs at the track have seen a C&D win at the end of 2024 and a second to the unexposed Bin Ajwad around this time last year, a good piece of form given the winner went in again here from a 7lb higher mark on his next start.
It’s of some interest that Oliver Stammers takes the ride too, he’s been on board for Paladin’s last two successes and they were both for Paladin’s former yard, that of Charlie Johnson.
This will be the first time he’s ridden the horse for Kevin & Lauren Frost, and whilst Paladin now needs to bounce back after a couple of poor efforts, he has done so in the past. Worth a small each-way bet, we feel.
