This looks a typically competitive two-mile handicap at Cheltenham and I have decided to split my stakes on two horses.

The first selection is POKER SCHOOL, he's been a thoroughly consistent horse over trips of between 2m to 2m 4f over the past year. Today he will get a hard-run 2m that should suit and bring his stamina into play. He runs off a mark of 132, which looks manageable, and I expect a big run.

UN BEAU ROMAN has gone well over this famous course and distance in the past. I expect him to leave his seasonal debut effort behind and run his race in what should be perfect conditions today. The 33/1 available looks a big enough and he could look very threatening turning for home.

The 25/1 on offer is too big to resist for MEADOWCROFT BOY. He's plummeted in the weights and the cobwebs should've been shaken off from his seasonal debut. I have always thought he was a two miler and off 105, I will give him one last chance.
