David Massey has a couple of selections to consider in the testing conditions after Ffos Las passed their inspection.
Racing betting tips: Friday January 30
1pt win Lynsey Larue in 15:25 Ffos Las at 14/1 (bet365, William Hill) - min 11/1
1pt win Cast’s Tasha in 16:00 Ffos Las at 15/2 (bet365, BetMGM) - min 7/1
14:50 Ffos Las
This is quite a competitive race for the grade, but maybe the key to it is the 2¾m handicap won by the unexposed Osterberg here earlier in the month.
In second was Pipas Lescribaa, who was running her second solid race at Ffos Las and deserves her chance again here, but it’s Lady Henrietta, who finished another four lengths away in third, who earns the token vote.
Whereas Pipas Lescribaa was quite keen and barely lasted home, Lady Henrietta was plugging away dourly after getting a bit outpaced and looked in need of a bit further.
An extra couple of furlongs today looks a distinct positive to her chances, and having won on heavy ground at Leicester the time before, she has every chance of reversing earlier course form with Harriet Dickin’s mare.

15:25 Ffos Las
LYNSEY LARUE hasn’t a lot of form to recommend her as yet, but she’s a dual point-to-point winner in Ireland so it’s hardly a surprise that shorter trips over hurdles haven’t seen her in her best light either.
She's built for fences and was in front and going strongly when she jinked and unshipped Ellis Collier at Hereford last time out when in the process of showing improved form. That episode may hint at temperament, but at the same time, it’s more than possible she was just making a last-second stride adjustment which Collier wasn’t expecting and caused him to become unbalanced.
The booking of the in-form Ben Jones looks a very interesting one, as he doesn’t take many rides for Evan Williams but is 3-8 in the last five seasons when he does.
Lynsey Larue needs to jump with more fluency here, but I’d be more than happy to give her a pass on her non completion last time and she certainly looks capable of much better over fences if temperament doesn’t become an issue.
16:00 Ffos Las
CAST'S TASHA was ostensibly disappointing at Fontwell last time but she was travelling well within herself when badly hampered and squeezed out between rivals a circuit out and it’s easy to understand her sulking after that incident.
She looked as good as ever on her seasonal return at Leicester when beaten a nose on heavy ground, and she was a winner here last season on a similar surface.
This trip is shorter than ideal, but the ground is a more important factor and she is overpriced on balance.
