Ben Linfoot sides with Makkadangdang in the 1615 at Sandown arguing: "The Mastercraftsman gelding hasn't been seen since May but missed an engagement at Lingfield in June due to the fast ground and was presumably put away for an autumn campaign.Handicapping over a trip always looked the future for him after some good runs in maidens and he ran okay when last seen at Brighton.
"He gave Archie Watson’s Alnasal 10lb that day and was beaten less than two lengths – subsequent events show that to be a good effort. Alnasal has been busy since, running 10 times and winning three of them on his climb to a rating of 81.
"A mark of 73 awaits Makkadangdang for his handicap debut and, though he’s a bit of a punt after an absence, it’s worth risking that he’s primed and ready."
National Hunt expert Murt Khan tips Red Giant in the 1700 at Kelso, saying: " He showed lots of ability in Ireland late last year but tumbled in the weights since joining Jennie Candlish. His disappointing runs were over the minimum trip and he seemed far more comfortable over 3m last time out.
"Today the trip is 2m 5 1/2f and I'm pretty confident it won't be detrimental to his chances. This is a weaker race than last time and he is more or less a winner running without a penalty. A repetition of that run should see him in the winner's enclosure today and he's a very confident selection."
It's Titi Makfi for Jamie Maynard in the 1550 at Yarmouth. He writes: "This horse has been progressing at a rate of knots through the handicap this summer and deserves her chance at Listed level. She’s notched five wins from eight starts since June and her most recent second at York was a fine effort. Goes on any surface but I feel this softer ground will be better and this looks her right distance."
