Steven Bergwijn marked his arrival at Spurs with a winner on his first start to put Jose Mourinho's side on the way to a surprise victory over champions Manchester City. Now, can another January signing in Gedson Fernandes make an impact?

The Portuguese midfielder could be set to make his first start on home turf in Wednesday's game and he is an attractive price in the scoring markets.

He played the first hour or so in the first leg, but in front of his own fans he will be even more determined to impress after just 25 minutes in total from the bench in the Premier League.

The 21-year-old, who arrived from Benfica, is an attacking midfielder by trade and, considering he is likely to be in a three-man midfield with Tanguy Ndombele and Eric Dier, he may have plenty of opportunities to surge forward and help Mourinho's men into round five, where a home clash with Norwich awaits.

Considering the positions he could occupy, with Spurs expected to have more possession, and his shooting stats - in one Champions League clash against Lyon this season he had four attempts - the 8/1 best price is surely worth a small play.

He is arguably not a natural goalscorer, with just one last term (against Bayern Munich), but he will obviously be encouraged to add that to his game at Spurs and an FA Cup clash could be a great way to take a step in the right direction.

Mourinho has made no secret of his desire to win this competition in his first season in north London and that desire should be transmitted through to his players, who should be full of confidence after Sunday's result, to see them past a revitalised Saints outfit.

Both managers, though, have admitted their disappointment at having to go to a replay, but the two teams will have at least 10 days until their next game and should both be up for it, so Spurs may need to net a couple on the night and the near 2/1 on them to win with over 2.5 goals also looks a good bet.

Ralph Hasenhuttl's side lost narrowly here in September and, although expected to play their part, they may go home disappointed again this time around.

Prediction: Spurs 2-1 Southampton (Sky Bet odds: 15/2)

Best bets:

Tottenham to win and over 2.5 total goals at 17/10
