Mensur Suljovic (4/9) v Ian White (7/4)

Head-to-head: 6-4
2018 meetings: 1-1

Mensur Suljovic is a fair favourite given how his stock has risen in the last couple of years but Ian White can't be underestimated here and I reckon he's a great bet to pull off an upset.

Diamond is enjoying the best season of his career, winning three PDC titles in 2018 including a maiden triumph on the European Tour, while he reached another Players Championship final on Saturday prior to his fairly comfortable first-round win here on Monday night.

He slammed in six 180s against Josh Payne and he won't have any fears facing the impressive Suljovic, who he defeated 6-1 en route to that final on Saturday.

Sure, the Austrian edged him out 2-1 on this stage 12 months ago and also beat him 11-8 in this year's World Matchplay, but both contests were close.

The 7/4 is good enough but I'm going to throw in White to hit the most 180s as well to make it 3/1.

Prediction: 2-3

Steve Beaton (6/4) v Gerwyn Price (8/15)

Head-to-head: 1-2
2018 meetings: 0-0

Steve Beaton produced the biggest shock of the tournament so far when knocking out Rob Cross for the second year running on Monday night but, if we're being honest, that was mainly down to how dreadfully the world champion played.

That said Gerwyn Price's levels weren't exactly much better in a 2-0 win over a disappointing Danny Noppert, with the Welshman averaging under 80, failing to hit a single 180 and managing just six of his 22 attempts at finishing doubles.

Another steady away performance from the Bronzed Adonis might be enough to pull off another victory against the odds.

Prediction: 3-2

Peter Wright (1/5) v Jermaine Wattimena (7/2)

Head-to-head: 7-1
2018 meetings: 4-0

I do like making a case for upsets due to the levelling nature of this double-start major but it's hard to do with this match up.

Peter Wright finished almost as well in his first-round win over Steve West, in which he won all six legs, as he did during that spellbinding Champions League of Darts semi-final against Michael van Gerwen and he looks so full of confidence right now.

He averaged 98 - the highest of the tournament so far - and even if he drops down to the low 90s or high 80s, it should still be enough to see off Wattimena.

The Machine Gun, who assassinated The King on Sunday, has lost all four meetings with Wright this year and last beat him back in 2016.

Prediction: 3-0

James Wilson (7/4) v Adrian Lewis (4/9)

Head-to-head: 1-4
2018 meetings: 1-2

It'd be easy to go for Adrian Lewis here given the high standards and battling qualities he produced against Michael Smith in what was the tie of round one.

However, don't overlook how impressive James Wilson was in fighting back from 1-0 down to defeat the 2017 runner-up Simon Whitlock, as he hit nearly 60% of his finishing doubles and averaged 86.

Lethal Biscuit won six of the last seven legs and it's not as if Whitlock played badly either, with the Aussie averaging 87.

Wilson although thumped Lewis 6-1 in a Players Championship event on Friday so he'll fancy his chances here.

Prediction: 3-1
