All the news, latest odds, key quotes and our betting tips for the Champions Trophy final between Pakistan and India.

The Champions Trophy reaches its conclusion on Sunday with a blockbuster final set to be watched by a billion people around the world.

India almost boycotted the event, while Pakistan only scraped in as the eighth and last qualifier.

Now they will meet in the final at The Oval, with Pakistan hoping to continue a resurgence that has seen them win three straight games since a thrashing at India's hands in their first game of the tournament.

For their part, India were stunned by Sri Lanka but secured top spot in Group B with a comfortable win over South Africa.

Both sides romped to easy victories in the semi-finals, Pakistan thrashing previously unbeaten England by eight wickets, and India overpowering Bangladesh.

Pakistan v India: Our Betting Preview

"Based on what we’ve seen in their past three games, you have to believe Pakistan have a fair chance.

Their bowling attack has sparkled, blunting England’s renowned batting line-up (the hosts made just 211 on Wednesday) and also restricting South Africa to 219. Keep India below 250 and they are bang in business."

Pakistan v India: Team news

Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur has confirmed Mohammad Amir is fit and will play in the Champions Trophy final after missing the semi-final victory over England due to a back spasm.

He will likely come straight back in for Rumman Raees, with both sides likely to be otherwise unchanged from their emphatic semi-final victories.

Indian off-spinner Ravi Ashwin is expected to be fit despite taking a blow to his right knee from a stray throw in fielding practice on Saturday morning.

Pakistan v India: Key Quotes

Pakistan

Head coach Mickey Arthur: "The India game (in the group stage) was an aberration.

"What we've produced after that doesn't come as any surprise, because that's how we trained, and that's what we worked at.

"It was very disappointing to see that go wrong in the Indian game, but ... we've closed the chapter on that.

"That was an aberration. We're now moving forward.

"Our strength has been the fact that we've been able to take wickets, and we've been able to take wickets consistently through the middle periods.

"If we can get amongst them with the new ball, we can expose the middle order that hasn't batted much in this competition - so that's pretty much our aim and focus.

"I don't think we've exceeded expectations at all.

"We had the mantra 'we want to get to London'. Well, we got to London - we want to go one step further now.

"The way the players dragged themselves off the canvas after the beating at Edgbaston was amazing. They've been really special."

Bowling coach Azhar Mahmood: "We've got nothing to lose - the pressure is more on them.

"They are ranked higher than us - so everyone is talking about India, India. But I can tell you one thing - we have come to win."

Fast bowler Mohammad Amir: "India have the upper hand in ICC tournaments.

"But things can change, and this is the time for us to change the tag that we don't perform well at ICC events.

"History can change, and I hope we can (change it)."

Opening batsman Azhar Ali: "It is massive. India refuse to play against us [on tours to Pakistan's home series in the United Arab Emirates].

"But (now) on the biggest stage it is India v Pakistan. It is like the Ashes ... it is bigger than the Ashes - and expectation is high from both nations, crazy about cricket.

"The pressure is high for both sides and their countries ... it is a dream final for the sponsors and the broadcasters.

"This is the game they want, but it is up to us how we handle the pressure on the day.

"It wouldn't be a shock if we won,. No one gave us a hope when we got here. We were the number eight ranked side, and no one gave us any credit.

"But someone asked me before the tournament who would be in the final and I said Pakistan.

"I believe in my boys ... if we win it would be a great gift to the whole nation."

India

Captain Virat Kohli: "This (pressure) is a part of being an Indian cricketer, you have to find a way to deal with it.

"You can't ignore it. You have to maintain a balance and then focus on what you need to do on the field.

"I think I've been able to strike a good balance until now and I'm sure I'll be fine tomorrow.

"On their day they (Pakistan) can beat any side in the world.

"That's the kind of players they have, we're quite aware of that.

"But, at the same time, neither are we too intimidated nor are we too arrogant about what we are doing."

Seamer Jasprit Bumrah: "They are always a good side. On their day they can beat any side so you cannot take any team lightly, especially Pakistan, you have to give them equal respect.

"Now we've reached the final we'll plan. There are no easy games over here.

"It always feels good whenever you're contributing to your team.

"(Bowling yorkers) is not easy and you have to work really hard. Whenever I have a net session I always try and emphasise that.

"I'll have a good death session because that's the time I bowl in the match. It's similar to bowling a length ball but the more you practice it, the better you get at it."

Pakistan v India: Talking Points

Big Match? Err... Yes!

London will have one of sport's highest-profile fixtures in its midst on Sunday. It is estimated more than a billion worldwide tuned in to watch India beat Pakistan in their group-stage clash at Adelaide in the last World Cup. A full house is a formality at The Oval, with projected broadcast figures likely to overtake previous records as unheralded Pakistan try to sneak the Champions Trophy from under the noses of the holders, neighbours and great rivals. Football's equivalent might be a Wembley final of the European Championship between Spain and Germany. A few might tune in for that as well...

Grudge Match? Kind Of

These two teams previously met just once at this stage of an International Cricket Council global event, when India won the World Twenty20 in South Africa in 2007. History and politics mean the stakes are unfathomably high anyway when the chance comes to bid for supremacy on the cricket pitch, as in their Group B meeting at Edgbaston two weeks ago. With a tournament trophy to be won, and India defending their title too, it is hard to overstate how much the outcome will mean to millions of people - including a significant British Asian sub-section. A carnival atmosphere is likely to reign before the first ball is bowled and, for one side, after the last one goes down too. In between, there will be plenty of noise - but it will be mighty serious stuff for all concerned.

Pakistan Need Bowlers To Fire Again

Even without Mohammad Amir, because of his back spasm, Sarfraz Ahmed's bowlers were pitch-perfect on a slow, used surface in Cardiff - where they easily won their semi-final against England on Wednesday. Their batsmen had little trouble there, chasing an inadequate total. But the suspicion is that if Pakistan are to hold sway in the final, it will be the bowlers who do it for them. A fresh pitch at The Oval will present a very different challenge against India's pedigree batting line-up, however.

India Vulnerable At The Oval?

It was here that India lost their only match of the tournament so far, when Sri Lanka shocked them last week by easily chasing 321 for six - with seven wickets and more than an over to spare. The tournament favourites did fare pretty well here in their warm-up programme, dishing out defeats to New Zealand and Bangladesh - the latter, whom they also beat in their Edgbaston semi-final, by a spectacular 240-run margin. India's overall record at the ground, in Tests and one-day internationals, is six wins in 26 attempts. Pakistan's, across the formats, is a more favourable nine out of 22 - but only two in nine ODIs.

...But Kohli And Co Still Hold The Aces

India hold the historical advantage in the knockout stage of world tournaments, having beaten Pakistan in each of three meetings so far. Their superiority in Birmingham was startling too, and Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur has since reflected on his team's "terrible" and "shambolic" performance there. India have twice topped 300 this month and chased a further 455 for the loss of only three wickets in their other two matches. They average almost 100 runs per wicket in the tournament. They will take some stopping.

Pakistan v India: Sky Bet Odds

India are heavy 4/9 favourites at Sky Bet, with Pakistan 15/8 outsiders to spring another surprise after dumping England out in the last four. India's captain Virat Kohli is a 7/1 Price Boost (from 5/1) to be the match's top runscorer while there's 5/2 available for any member of India's in-form top three - Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma - to score a century.
