ATP Tour review: Jo-Wilfried Tsonga wins Open Marseille

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga claimed his third Open 13 Marseille title with a 6-4 6-4 victory against fellow Frenchman Lucas Pouille.

Tsonga cruised to the 14th title of his career in 69 minutes as Pouille failed to put the 31-year-old any under real pressure.

Pouille was going for his second ATP World Tour crown after winning his maiden title at the Moselle Open in Metz last September.

But the 23-year-old struggled at times with his serve, landing about 60 per cent of his first-serve offerings.

He was broken at the start of the match and again at 3-3 in the second set as Tsonga secured his second title of 2017.

Pouille also failed to dent Tsonga's serve, with the former Australian Open runner-up winning 87 per cent of his service points.

Tsonga never faced a break point as he added a third Marseille title to his collection after victories in 2009 and 2013.

It was Tsonga's second consecutive title as he won the ABN Amro World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam last week by defeating then-world number 11 David Goffin.

Tsonga should now return to the top 10 at number seven when the new ATP rankings are revealed on Monday.

Jack Sock continued his strong start to 2017 by claiming the Delray Beach Open following Milos Raonic's withdrawal through injury.

Top seed Raonic pulled out of Sunday's final in Florida due to a hamstring tear in his right leg.

The unfortunate end to the tournament gave third seed Sock his second ATP title of 2017 after prevailing at the ASB Classic last month.

American Sock did not drop a set at Delray Beach and is projected to move to a career-high 18 in the rankings.

Austria's Dominic Thiem won his eighth ATP title after beating Pablo Carreno Busta in the final of the Rio Open.

Thiem won 7-5 6-4 - a result which completed a flawless tournament in which the second seed won every set.

"This is the best feeling you can have, winning a title," he told the Tour's official website.

"I played five very good matches, especially in the semis and final against amazing players."

It was Thiem's third title in the so-called 'Golden Swing', following victories in Buenos Aires and Acapulco in 2016.

"I did the same thing last year, going from clay to hard in Acapulco and I did well," he added.

"It's not easy with the travel and time difference, but the confidence is high and I'm feeling great.
