Teenage qualifier Amanda Anisimova came up short in her bid for Japan Women's Open glory as number-two seed Hsieh Su-Wei claimed a comfortable straight sets victory in Hiroshima.
Su-Wei, playing in her first final in six years, needed just 58 minutes to beat the 17-year-old 6-2 6-2 and secure her third career title.
Anisimova had shocked number-one seed Zhang Shuai in the semi-finals and beat Su-Wei 6-0 6-1 in their previous meeting in Honolulu last year.
But, after Anisimova missed two break points, Su-Wei did not look back and cruised through the first set.
Like in the first, Su-Wei soon opened up a 4-1 lead and took her second championship point to seal her first singles title for six years.
