But the Spaniard accepts he'll only be able to challenge for his first title at SW19 since 2010 if his "knees hold up well" on the grass.
Nadal brushed aside all before him to complete his own La Decima at the French Open on Sunday, incredibly dropping just 35 games in his seven matches across the fortnight at Roland Garros.
His thumping 6-2 6-3 6-1 victory over Stan Wawrinka meant he won the title without dropping a set during the whole tournament for the third time in his career having previously repeated the feat in 2008 and 2010.
On both of those occasions he went on to get his hands on the Wimbledon trophy - and he'll begin his preparations for a third crown at SW19 at the Aegon Championships at Queen's Club in a week's time.
But Nadal has struggled at the All England Club in recent years, winning only five matches since 2011, with his physical difficulties taking their toll.
He said: "It has been a while since I played a very good Wimbledon. It's true that after 2012 what happened with my knees has been tougher and tougher to compete on grass for me.
"I love grass, everybody knows. And I miss playing well at Wimbledon. So I hope that my knees hold up well and I can have the preparation that I really need and the preparation that I wanted.
"If I feel healthy during Wimbledon, then probably I'm going to have my chances to play well."
