Defending champion Novak Djokovic has been handed a tricky first-round draw against Philipp Kohlschreiber.
The top seed could go on to face Daniil Medvedev or Stefanos Tsitsipas in the quarter-finals, before a potential semi-final against Kevin Anderson or Alex Zverev.
First, though, he'll have to get past Kohlschreiber, a former winner on grass in Halle who reached the Wimbledon quarter-finals in 2012.
On the other side of the draw, controversial Australian talent Nick Kyrgios could face Rafael Nadal in round two.
Kyrgios recently described Nadal as a sore loser during a podcast appearance before taking aim at uncle and coach Toni, who he described as an "idiot".
Second seed Roger Federer opens against Lloyd Harris, with either British wild card Jay Clarke or qualifier Noah Rubin to follow in what appears to be a gentle introduction to the tournament.

British number one Kyle Edmund finds himself in Djokovic's quarter, with Jaume Munar first up before a potential second-round clash with Fernando Verdasco.
James Ward and Dan Evans will face off in round two if they can get past Nikoloz Basilashvili and Federico Delbonis respectively, with another wild card, Paul Jubb, in the same section and potentially awaiting in round three.
Cameron Norrie faces Denis Istomin and could go on to play eighth seed Kei Nishikori in round two.
Finally, Andy Murray's Wimbledon return in the doubles will pit the Scot and French partner Pierre-Hugues Herbert against Romania's Marius Copil and Ugo Humbert of France.
Murray could potentially face his brother Jamie, playing with fellow British doubles specialist Neal Skupski, in the third round.
